🌈🌐In the field of cryptocurrency, Qitmeer Network is known for its unique dual-layer architecture. This architecture comprises Layer 1 and Layer 2, providing a robust foundation for ecosystem development, positioning it as an ideal blockchain ecosystem.

Layer 1 Value Transport Layer — Meer Network

Qitmeer Network functions as the bade PoW layer using the MeerDAG consensus protocol. It employs the BlockDAG consensus protocol with a graph-like ledger structure as the “engine” to efficiently power a pluggable smart contract execution engine. This forms the groundwork for Qitmeer’s high-performance public blockchain, ensuring robust decentralization and security at the core of the entire system.

During the network’s initial design, Meer Network was designated as the value transfer layer, avoiding the burden of handling all computational tasks to prevent increased complexity and potential vulnerabilities. The design of the cooperative accounting model and asynchronous consensus scheme aims to support high-concurrency transactions, optimizing network data structures to address the state explosion problem and reduce resource requirements for full nodes, allowing more users to run full nodes to support Layer1 network’s intricate data validation.

📖 An analogy to a parliament helps understand blockchain’s workings better:

To ensure the smooth operation of the parliamentary (blockchain) organizational form, everyone needs to propose proposals (transactions), and the trusted speaker (verification node) ensures fairness and prevents cheating. At the same time, to avoid system overload, there is no need for everyone to submit proposals (transactions) to parliament (blockchain). Proposals can be organized through contracts and records, and only resolved by parliament (blockchain) in case of disputes, ensuring that everyone can complete proposals in a timely manner without worrying about system load.

By likening blockchain to a parliament, we gain a better understanding of how blockchain operates. In the structure of the network, Layer 1 mainly focuses on two core tasks: node verification of consensus and value transmission.

Node Verification Consensus

The verification task of Meer Network is to ensure the validity of each transaction and prevent fraudulent behavior. This process ensures transaction integrity and also forms the core of the blockchain trust mechanism. In a fully decentralized network, verification is particularly critical because it can prevent malicious behavior by individual nodes or organizations.

Layer 1 also assumes the responsibility of ensuring data availability. This means all blockchain data should be accessible to every node in the network, promoting consensus and trust establishment. Data availability is a crucial feature of blockchain networks, ensuring the transparency and immutability of transactions and blocks.

Value Transfer

Layer 1, as the foundation layer of blockchain, usually represents the main chain of blockchain, responsible for maintaining global state, executing consensus algorithms, ensuring network security and decentralization. Its main function is as a value storage platform, not a transactional platform. This means that its core task is to ensure the security of ledger data and network asset storage, rather than executing smart contracts and transaction calculations.

To address this, Qitmeer moves most transaction calculations and contract execution to the cross-chain container layer,by adopting the “smooth decay” economic design model, financial burdens are spread across a wider base of token holders. Simultaneously, it incentivizes Layer1 miners or validators to contribute computational resources for the network’s long-term security maintenance. This measure effectively balances the network’s security and performance requirements.

Cross-chain container layer for Layer 1 — QNG network

🔸QNG Network is a Layer 1 scalability solution of Qitmeer Network, achieving high throughput and low transaction fees. By leveraging the MeerDAG consensus protocol at the core of Layer 1 network, high concurrency network performance drives the efficient operation of pluggable MeerEVM containers.

The Layer1 network layer and container layer are connected through the Meerlink cross-chain protocol, achieving compatibility between the classic blockchain models UTXO and account models. Simultaneously, through Meer Coin’s cross-chain 1:1 equivalent currency exchange, QNG Network’s transaction data integrates into the underlying MeerDAG consensus transaction flow, fully utilizing BlockDAG performance.

This unique layered network design enhances network scalability, providing efficient, low-cost transaction and processing solutions for different application scenarios, further strengthening Qitmeer Network’s network performance.

Future-oriented Application Extension Layer — Layer 2

🔹With the flourishing ecosystem of blockchain applications, the L2 ecosystem has made significant progress in enhancing industry scalability, efficiency, and availability, has received a lot of attention and continues to be active.

One of the key tasks of Layer 2 is to ensure the effectiveness of bulk transactions to prevent fraud. This layer bundles multiple off-chain transactions together and submits them to Layer 1 for verification and final settlement, significantly improving network throughput and scalability while still borrowing the security of Layer 1.

Layer 2 technology seamlessly integrates the characteristics of a layered network, and we maintain a keen interest in it, conducting forward-looking research on the Layer 1 + Layer 2 dual-layer structure. As QNG Network integrates more container upgrades into cross-chain centers, we will timely embark on the research and deployment of L2 solutions on the Qitmeer Network. We believe this new vision will comprehensively reshape the brand image and inject interesting enhancements into the broader Qitmeer ecosystem.
