From Innovation
Qitmeer Network launched its test network on December 30, 2019. After 22 months of real HashRate testing, it officially launched the main network on September 30, 2021. The innovative MeerDAG protocol greatly improves the transmission performance and achieves a system throughput far exceeding that of Bitcoin and Ether, and the TPS can reach 4000+ under the ideal condition of bandwidth and propagation delay, which is a new public chain with the ability to undertake hundreds of millions of users in the industry.
The revolutionary changes of DeFi in 2021 brought unprecedented changes to the blockchain industry. The amount of locked positions, the user volume and the on-chain accounts of decentralized finance have all increased exponentially. And we also realized that the goal of the new public chain is not to become an " ethereum killer ", but to coexist with it in a new direction of " no boundary " development. Therefore, in August 2022, the QNG network was officially activated and launched, and at that time, Qitmeer Network took out its understanding of " no boundary ".
The QNG network is fully compatible with EVM and innovatively realizes the 1:1 equivalent exchange between QNG network and main chain at any time, so that the application scenario of MEER is no longer limited to a certain public chain, but can bring the main chain assets into more networks through cross-chain, and can participate in the ecology in other networks and feed more ecology back to itself.
Up to now, the QNG network has been running smoothly for more than half a year. While fully promoting the development of the ecology, Qitmeer Network is also looking further ahead. While doing a good job of being compatible with EVM, what we want to do is to make an extended layer ecology with full network coverage!

With the development of the blockchain, the ecology of the blockchain is showing a blowout development, and projects such as Defi, GameFi, meta-universe and other projects are popping up. And these different Dapps have different requirements for the performance and speed of a chain. For example, Defi applications need sufficient security, but are relatively less sensitive to timeliness and Gas, while GameFi, SocialFi and other projects have extremely high demand for low Gas and high speed.
The integration of all these different demanded applications in one network will increase the load on the network, creating congestion and excessive Gas fees. So can we spread out the transactions of applications with different needs into networks with different needs? If the transactions of DeFi applications that do not require high speed and effectiveness are done directly in the QNG network, while the application transactions that require fast and instant transactions are handed over to networks with higher performance and faster speed, will there be a way out? Yes, this is the answer given by Qitmeer Network - a brand new subnet " Amana " network.
The " Amana " network is the core component of Qitmeer Network Layer 2, and it has been successfully launched on the test network. The network uses a high-speed subnet based on the PoA algorithm. Although PoW is recognized as the safest consensus mechanism, which is also the reason why it was adopted by Qitmeer main network, it is not scalable and cannot meet the ecological diversity on the chain.
Compared with the traditional consensus mechanism, the PoA mechanism is based on the reputation consensus mechanism, and the nature of its nodes is specified, which can minimize the possibility of the verification node doing evil and save energy. A new block can be created in an average of 5 seconds. The transaction speed is extremely fast and the fee is extremely low. It is suitable for scenarios that need to quickly process a large number of transactions, such as logistics, GameFi, etc. This lays a solid foundation for the subsequent development of Qitmeer's high-demand applications.

Full network extension layer ecology
Remember the " extension layer ecology with full network coverage " mentioned earlier? Yes, in addition to the " Amana " network, the " Flana " network based on the Rollup protocol, and the " Mizana " network based on " zero knowledge proof " are all under being planned. Qitmeer Network will provide multiple Layer 2 scaling options compared to the rest of the traditional public chains to build a universal and flexible scaling framework. They will enhance the ecology and playability of Qitmeer Network in terms of transaction throughput, scalability, privacy protection, etc.
At present, the public chains headed by ETH cannot separate applications with different requirements, resulting in complex applications such as GameFi and high-frequency applications ( such as social protocols and life scenarios ) not running smoothly, and the high gas and congestion lead to extremely poor user experience. However, Qitmeer Network integrates multiple networks, and can put different operations in the same project into corresponding subnets for execution according to different needs, making it more efficient and cheaper.
In the near future, Qitmeer Network will also be compatible with the network needs of more scenarios to achieve a true full network ecology. After the full coverage, Qitmeer Network will become the underlying infrastructure of Web3.0, and the corresponding functions will include high - frequency and efficient needs such as crypto asset payment and decentralized application construction.
