At the beginning of 2025, Qitmeer Network continued to deepen its technological research and development and ecosystem expansion, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation and breakthroughs.

In this bi-monthly report, we provide a comprehensive overview of Qitmeer Network’s technical advancements, ecosystem partnerships, and community activities from January to February 2025. Together with global developers and users, we aim to drive the widespread adoption and innovative growth of blockchain technology.

Technical Progress

During January and February, the R&D team focused on optimizing block synchronization, improving the P2P network, addressing security vulnerabilities, and upgrading system versions. These efforts significantly enhanced system stability, performance, and compatibility.

These advancements lay a solid foundation for the network’s future growth and expansion.

Added HasMeerState RPC: Introduced a new RPC interface to enhance remote procedure call capabilities.
Optimized Network Info (networkinfo): Improved network attribute tracking, including max/min/local order properties for real-time node status updates.
Enhanced P2P Message Read Timeout Handling: Optimized timeout logic for P2P communication to boost efficiency.
Improved P2P Message Sending & Response Management: Increased code readability, maintainability, and resource management efficiency.
Enabled Persistent Connection Block Syncing: Streamlined block synchronization via continuous connections for smoother, real-time updates.
Optimized Block Sync Performance: Increased synchronization speed and stability while reducing data loss or delays.
Upgraded MeerEVM to v1.15.2: Enhanced EVM compatibility and performance.
Legacy Account Unlock Compatibility: Improved account management to support unlocking legacy accounts.
Introduced RelayNode Functionality: Added relay node support to enhance network data transmission stability.

Bug Fixes (fix)

Resolved Snap-Sync Long Wait After Restart: Optimized sync logic for faster recovery post-restart.
Fixed Snap-Sync Stalling Issues: Addressed multiple scenarios causing sync freezes.
Aligned Transaction Validation (txsvalid) with Consensus: Adjusted validation logic to ensure consensus consistency.
Prevented Exit-Related Panic: Optimized shutdown processes to avoid crashes.
Improved Peer Connection Stability: Enhanced node-to-node connection reliability.
Resolved Handshake Delays Over Persistent Connections: Optimized P2P handshake mechanisms.
Fixed Block Sync Issues Caused by MeerDAG Cropping: Addressed synchronization failures after DAG structural changes.
Patched Ethereum-Related Vulnerability (CVE-2025–24883): Mitigated potential attack risks.
Corrected Proof-of-Work Validation Errors: Improved block validation accuracy.

Overhauled Snap-Sync Workflow: Improved synchronization efficiency and stability.

Upgraded go-libp2p-kad-dht Dependency to v0.28.2: Enhanced P2P discovery and routing efficiency.
Integrated MeerDAG + PoA into Amana Network: Combined Amana Network with MeerDAG and Proof-of-Authority (PoA) for optimized consensus.

Qitmeer Community Game

Our “Guess the Word” event in the Philippines and across our global community was a huge success! The event attracted many enthusiastic participants who actively guessed words, took on challenges, and enjoyed the thrill of discovering new knowledge through the game.

This event not only provided a fun and engaging challenge for community members but also offered a deeper understanding of the revealed vocabulary. It fostered interaction and communication within the community while giving participants a dual experience of entertainment and learning.

New Year 2025 Digital Art Contest

In collaboration with the DimAI platform, we launched a creative submission event in the Philippines community, encouraging members to participate in a digital art co-creation project called “New Year 2025” on the DimAI platform. This event attracted hundreds of creators, and outstanding works were permanently preserved as NFTs.

Participants showcased their unique creative visions for 2025, expressing their aspirations and goals through stunning digital art. Among the many impressive submissions, we selected 10 outstanding pieces — and we can’t wait to share them with you!
