Hello to the community! We are back! Did you miss our weekly report? Here we are again, discussing and will be tackling the latest developments on the Qitmeer Network.
Just before the transition of Umayyad 1.0 into the QNG Network, the Qitmeer team surprised us with terrific news “Qitmeer Network partnered with the University of Birmingham to establish the Meer Labs Blockchain Technology Research Lab!” This milestone gave confidence and joy to the investors and the community, not only we have partnered with them, but Meer Labs was also issued a business license by the Cardiff Business and Industry Authority in the U.K last 13th of June 2022, details can be found here
After the news about the University of Birmingham was out, the community received another news that changes everything, the transition of the Umayyad 1.0 to QNG Network, this is the moment that we all have been waiting for, on August 31 the team announced that the QNG Network run smoothly and MeerEVM was also activated at the same time. The transition to QNG Network and MeerEVM was done at blockchain heights 950916 and 951100 respectively.
About the QNG Network Upgrade
As of 2022–08–27 12:01:31 BST (27th 5:01:31 London time, 27th 8:01:31 Dubai time), the qitmeer-0.10 version of the network has stopped generating new data and block 1056136 (mainHeight=950916) is the last valid block. After that, the data is generated by the QNG (Qitmeer Next Generation) network. Qitmeer was officially in the QNG network and is working fine, please download the qng-1.0.15 release to join the network.

The Locked Meers from the last year’s Pmeer to Meer Mapping
Last year, we have done the mapping from Pmeer to Meer when we transitioned to Umayyad 1.0. The first phase of the unlock will continue until the blockchain height reaches (1080000) which is roughly 20% of all the Meers from last year’s mapping, and the second phase (80%) will commence at the blockchain height 12000000. People may wonder why their second unlock was at 52560000, do not worry about that, we are all in the same boat, it will be updated when we reached the blockchain height 12000000, and details will be given in due time.
This milestone will not be reached without the support of the community, we take the community as the fuel that ignites us to thrive hard!
