Qitmeer Network Monthly Report (2023/5/1–2023/5/31)
Dear Qitmeer Network ,
May was an important milestone for Qitmeer Network, and we made many significant progress.
In the past month, we have been working on solving the network synchronization efficiency problem and conducting a lot of centralized testing in the QNG testnet ( https://qng-testnet.meerscan.io/ ) to find out the root cause of the problem. After in-depth analysis, it was found that the problem was caused by inconsistent data between the two data layers (BlockDAG and EVM). To completely solve this problem, we decided to replace the entire data layer and integrate the two data layers into one data layer. This is not a simple bug-fix problem, but a comprehensive solution.
To achieve this goal, it is planned to gradually solve this problem in 3–5 release versions. First, by unifying the versions of all nodes to qng-1.0.21 + release, and then continuously updating the network in the following release versions, the data consistency problem can finally be solved., and lay a solid foundation for the development and optimization of the system.
At the same time, we have also held a series of important events, including a hackathon at Birmingham City University and a global AMA community tour. We are also actively building strategic partnerships with projects in the Web3 space and further expanding our partner pool and on-chain ecosystem.

Qitmeer Network Technology Development Progress
qng-1.0.21 + release upgrade
- Fully optimize node data synchronization efficiency, solve other data anomalies caused by synchronization problems, and improve network robustness and stability；
- Enhance block data acquisition efficiency in the P2P network and improve block synchronization rate；
- Optimize qng node shutdown process, fix shutdown occasional error；
- Memory pool optimization, memory pool RPC API optimization, enhance peer node memory pool acquisition efficiency；
- GBT empty block logic optimization, improve the execution efficiency of GBT empty block logic, avoid malicious empty blocks, improve block generation efficiency and resource utilization of the network, and enhance the mining experience of the miner community；
- Add stateRoot RPC to monitor node consistency more quickly and comprehensively, and timely discover hidden dangers of data damage that may be caused by abnormal restarts of nodes to ensure data integrity and security.
Through continuous testing and optimization work, the latest version of Qitmeer node, qng-1.0.21, has completed Simulation Testing in different operating environments and operating scenarios, as well as performance and stability testing under high load conditions, and was officially released on May 30, 2023.

Event operation
On May 17th, Qitmeer Network teamed up with Birmingham City University to host a Hackathon to provide students with a platform to learn and innovate. Together with IBM, Microsoft, and Santander, we supported and sponsored competition awards to encourage students to show their creativity and technical prowess. Participants had the opportunity to interact with Subject-Matter Experts, share ideas, learn about the latest blockchain technology trends, and receive valuable feedback and guidance. The Hackathon is an important part of Birmingham City University’s Innovation Festival, a one-day competition aimed at promoting the application and promotion of blockchain technology.

On May 16th, we conducted an AMA LIVE warm-up on the Binance LIVE platform. The community can learn more about the Qitmeer Network and Hackathon events through LIVE. This event deepened the cooperation with Birmingham City University and provided students with more practical opportunities and technical development space. Qitmeer Network entered into a partnership with the WikiBit Official community to participate in a roundtable discussion on the topic of decoding encryption regulations. During the discussion, Content Marketing Manager Obiajulu Benjamin shared his views on Cryptocurrency regulation in Europe. He emphasized the importance of goals such as investor protection, Anti Money Laundering, combating terrorist financing, market integrity, and consumer protection to achieve a safer, transparent, and stable Cryptocurrency market. He also emphasized the effective implementation of compliance management systems to adapt to changing regulatory environments and called for maintaining collaborative business growth and balanced promotion of collective voice to effectively address new regulatory challenges.

Summary of Genesis Mapping Release Preview
In response to the Genesis Mapping release issue that community users and friends are concerned about, we have released an important preview! Umayyad 1.0 Genesis Mapping has a total of 42,108,530 MEERs, and 8,762,785 MEERs (20.81%) have been allocated so far. The remaining 33,345,744 MEERs will be released in one go in the upcoming release plan (expected June 6). This is an important milestone for Qitmeer Network.

- Front-end and back-end interaction testing: The interaction testing between the front and back ends have been completed to ensure that the system can correctly transmit and process data.
- Dimai Content Generation Related Contract Interaction Testing: Completed interactive testing of smart contracts related to content generation to ensure that the generated content meets expectations and can be stored and accessed correctly.
- NFT casting contract interaction test: Completed the interaction test with the NFT (non-fungible token) casting contract to ensure that the NFT can be successfully minted and that the relevant properties and functions are normal.
